In 2003, Ustadha Rehan Rashid received her ijaza in Tajwid from Shaykh MuhyiDin Hassan al-Kurdi in Damascus. Since then, she has been sharing her love for the Quran by privately tutoring numerous students in tajwid, as well as teaching at the Averroes Academy in Illinois and developing curriculum for the Futuwwa School in Amman. Born in the US, Ustadha Rehan also lived for many years in Palestine and Jordan and spent time studying in Yemen and Syria, giving her an exposure to traditional Islam. She currently lives with her family in Amman, Jordan.
