Ustadh Abdus Shakur Brooks' unique style of teaching reflects his deep knowledge as well as wisdom. His memorable sense of humor, warmth, and sincerity sets his students at ease, and inculcates in them a deep love for Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him). His teaching experience encompasses both the online teaching sphere as well as the traditional classroom environment.

Ustadh Abdus Shakur is a Canadian from Toronto who converted to Islam in 1998. In 2000 he began his correspondence in traditional studies with a learned Hanafi scholar. In 2003 he traveled to the renowned school Mazharatul-Uloom in India where he spent a short period of time. Since 2004 he has been carrying out his studies mainly in Maliki fiqh, Arabic grammar and other sciences overseas with various teachers ranging from West Africa, Yemen, Syria, Turkey and Egypt.
